TINSUKIA, May 16 � Alleging negligence towards the welfare of tea workers in various aspects by the owners of the Rungagora Tea Estate, the Panitola branch of Asom Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has staged a dharna programme in the garden here today.
Leading the dharna, secretary of the branch, Raju Sahu, Parliamentary Secretary, and MLA, Chabua, alleged that the garden authority even was not paying salaries to the staff timely and has not taking any step to provide the facilities to the workers and staff. The management even failed to provide ration materials timely to the workers.
Sahu warned that if the garden authority does not redress the problems of the workers and staffs of the garden then the ACMS would take more stringent protest programmes including closing of the garden.
