ACMS condemns doctor�s killing

DIBRUGARH, Sept 4 - The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has demanded immediate arrest of all the killers of Dr Deben Dutta of Teok tea estate. The trade union has also demanded exemplary punishment for all the culprits. �

Condemning the killing of the senior doctor, ACMS secretary Rupesh Gowalla said that government must ensure that all those involved in the brutal attack be arrested and punished. Through a press statement, Gowalla also demanded independent inquiry into the whole incident by a magistrate. He has also asked the administration to ensure that no such incident was repeated and that law and order was maintained by all parties.

Our Correspondent from Nalbari adds: Doctors and their family members of Nalbari district on Tuesday evening took out a candlelight procession at Nalbari town to mourn the death of a doctor of Teok tea estate. The protesters holding candles traversed main thoroughfares and gathered at the Golpark and placed the candles. They also illuminated earthen lamps at the Golpark for the eternal peace of Dr Deven Dutta, who was killed by a group of labourers. The health staff, representative of different organisations, and community joined the silent procession.
