Acid attack survivor talks at motivational session

GUWAHATI, Sept 14 - Taking part in a motivational session at the Royal Global School (RGS) here today, acid attack survivor Lakshmi Agarwal described her harrowing experience and the way it changed the course of her life.

Addressing the audience that included Vice Chancellor of Royal Global University (RGU) Prof SP Singh, head of Royal Global School Anubha Goyal, parents, teachers and students of RGU and RGS, Lakshmi narrated how, having been brutally attacked at the tender age of 15, she refused to allow this hindrance to beat her down and give up on life. Instead, with sheer grit and determination, she went on to celebrate life amidst all trials and tribulations.

Lakshmi, who is now an ambassador of courage, hope and love for life, also stressed the need for children to communicate with their parents and educators at all times.

RGU Vice Chancellor Prof Singh saluted the resilience of Lakshmi and condemned the practice of acid attacks as a means of vengeance. A parent recited a touching poem as a tribute to Lakshmi Agarwal�s indomitable spirit. The session concluded with Lakshmi promoting her campaign �Stop Sale Acid� in a bid to curb the menace of acid attacks, said a press release.
