Acharya Sneha Sanmilan held

GUWAHATI, May 16 � Focusing on the overall development of the students and teachers as well, the Guwahati section of Shishu Siksha Samiti, Assam organized �Acharya Sneha Sanmilan� on May 14 at Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan, RG Baruah Road. Altogether 264 teachers from 16 schools took part in the programme.

The Sishu Siksha Samity units, affiliated to Vidya Bharati � an all India non-governmental educational institution, focus on the personality development of the students through physical, academic, intellectual, and moral education. Such programmes are organized by the institution from time to time for overall development of students and teachers.

Paramesh Patowary of Sishu Siksha Samity, Assam hoisted the flag. In the inaugural function, president of Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan executive committee Amulya Charan Choudhury lighted the lamp.

Former Vice Chancellor of the Gauhati University Dr Nirmal Kumar Choudhury was also present on the occasion. While speaking at the programme, Choudhury said that the teachers have a responsibility towards building a good society.

Vice-president of Sishu Siksha Samity, Assam and former principal of Pragjyotish College Dr Dayananda Pathak was also present on the occasion.

Different competitions and cultural programmes were organized among the teachers participating in the programme.

An open session was also held which was presided over by general secretary of Sishu Siksha Samity, Assam, Sada Dutta. Dr Indra Bhattacharya, Principal of Cotton College lauded the efforts of Assamese medium schools in the State. Noted litterateur and educationist Kapur Chand Jain was present as the chief guest.
