ACAUT warns of civil war if Naga solution is not inclusive

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Aug 26 - There will be a civil war if the Government of India decides to bring in solution to the protracted Naga political problem with the NSCN-IM alone, warned the anti-graft group, Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland.

All the Naga political groups of Nagaland must be taken on board before finalising a solution to the problem and the Government of India must officially invite all the six Naga political groups of the State for talks, said ACAUT advisor KK Sema, while addressing a massive anti-corruption rally at Super Market here last evening.

He contended that the problem of corruption will remain if the solution to the Naga issue is not inclusive and other Naga political groups are not taken into confidence.

He opined that signing of the Framework Agreement between NSCN-IM and Government of India is a serious business.

Sema also called upon all citizens of Nagaland to join the fight against corruption with active participation.

After the rally, a seven-point resolution was adopted demanding that the State Government summon a special session of Nagaland Assembly to pass the Lokayukta Bill 2017 to check corruption, mismanagement and siphoning of public funds and immediately terminate all backdoor appointments. If the Government of Nagaland fails to act on these demands before the end of September, the public will call for Nagaland bandh, it warned.

It also resolved to urge Government of India to expedite the political process for early and lasting political solution to the protracted Naga political problem by inviting all Naga political groups without further delay.
