GUWAHATI, May 8 - The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has constituted 10 sub-committees in its special general meeting for smooth functioning of the ACA activities.
Former noted State Ranji cricketer Amal Das has been appointed as the chairman of the senior selection committee while Raju Das will lead the junior selection panel as chairman.
The State cricket body also informed that talented pacer Mukhter Hussain has been selected by the MRF Pace Foundation to tour Australia from May 11 to 25.
The committees are: Tour, fixture and technical, Senior selection, Junior selection, Women selection, Senior tournament, Women cricket, Cricket talent, Umpires committee, State cricket infrastructure, Media coordinator.
Tour, fixture and technical committee: (Head Quarter Zone) Akid Zaman, (Upper Assam Zone) Niranjan Das, (Lower Assam Zone) Pranjit Das, (Northern Assam Zone) Rumit Paul, (Central Assam Zone) Jitu Bordoloi, (Barak Valley Zone) Subimal Dhar.
Senior selection committee: Amal Das (Chairman), Biswajit Mazumdar, Sushil Uzir, KK Baruah, Gautam Das (all members). Junior selection committee: Raju Phukan (Chairman), Deep Bora, Parmesh Bora, Sumit Ranjan Das, Raj Kumar Das (all members). Women selection committee: Nazreen Ahmed (Chairperson), Rita Baidya Kakati, Manju Chetia, Suchitra Singha, Nazrin Sultana. Media coordinator: Nasir Gul Khan.
