ACA concern over set up of helipad on pitch

By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, Oct 31 - The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has expressed their concern over setting up of concrete helipad on pitches of Dhubri Sports Associations ground.

A team of ACA, led by secretary Devajit Saikia and CEO Sujit Kakati, BCCI curator Mukut Kalita, among others, visited the Zhagrapara Stadium in Dhubri yesterday, which is owned by the Dhubri DSA and was deeply astonished to find a helipad constructed with concrete and paver blocks on three cricket pitches at the stadium. A pebbled road passing through the ground to the pitch area where the helipad is located also damaged the outfield.

However, Saikia hoped that the District Administration would soon remove the helipad along with the pebbled road inside the ground at the earliest. Saikia also assured the officials of the Dhubri DSA that ACA will take up the matter with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, stated an ACA release.
