MORIGAON, Feb15 - The district level matches of the Assam Cricket�Association�s�Premier Club Cricket Championship under Morigaon district got underway here at the Khirode Boruah Stadium today.
Altogether nine affiliated teams of the district are participating in this tournament. Parikhit Dutta, vice president of ACA formally inaugurated the championship here.
In today�s inaugural match, Morigaon Morning Club defeated Borigaon Udayan Sangha by five runs. Winning the toss, Morigaon Morning Club elected to bat and scored 211 losing 6 wickets in stipulated 40 overs.
In reply, Borigaon Udayan Sangha scored 206 losing eight wickets in 40 overs. Riazuddin Ahmed of Borigaon Udayan Sangha top scored with an unbeaten 72 runs off 81 balls while Ankur Deka of Morigaon Morning Club was the wrecker in chief with five wickets in his eight overs.
