BONGAIGAON, Aug 4 - ABSU activists burnt the effigy of one Bijit Axom this noon at Chirang district headquarter Kajalgaon protesting against a comment posted on his Facebook account against ABSU president Pramod Boro. Bijit in his comment had said that ABSU president should be killed next. He posted this remark on his Facebook account on August 1 after Lafiquls murder.

The student group has staged this protest in 19 places in and outside BTAD before filing reports against Bijit in respective police stations today.

The student group has demanded security to their president and to book Bijit immediately so as to keep communal harmony intact and to teach lessons to those who often misuse social media intending to spark communal unrest in BTAD and the State. I suspect Bijit is linked with ULFA (I), as cadres and members of the outfit generally use Axom after their names. Therefore, the matter should be probed from different angles, Pramod Boro said.
