ABSU organises cycle rally in support of its demands

TEZPUR, Dec 3 - As a part of the continued movement, Sonitpur District ABSU on Friday organised a huge cycle rally to put pressure on the Central and the State governments to take a quick decision on creating a separate Boroland besides fulfilment of some other long-pending demands. It is to be mentioned here that there are altogether 18 anchalick committees under the Sonitpur ABSU. Members of all the anchalick committees took part in the cycle rally and passed through various places of the district. The rally concluded at Dhekiajuli Ghogra Kochari Bathow Mandir.

It was followed by a public meeting which was addressed vice president, ABSU, Dipen Boro, public relation secretary of the students� body, Budhiram Boro, district committee, vice president, Tapan Boro and all the presidents and secretaries of the anchalick committees.

Coming down heavily on the government�s indifferent attitude towards the problems of the Bodo people, Dipen Boro, in his speech, said that the State and the Central governments have been neglecting the Bodoland issue. �Both the Centre and the State have been seen using the Bodos only for their interests, but their issues are not being addressed properly till date,� he alleged adding that if the government fails to deliver its commitment, they would go for a vigorous movement against the government�s insensitive stand against the Bodos.

He also informed that ABSU would register a strong protest in Delhi on December 12, 13 and 14 and on January 26 in protest against the government�s lackacidical attitude towards Bodo problems.
