BONGAIGAON, June 23 - Jawans of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) had allegedly attacked the ABSUs unit office and physically assaulted one of its activists Tuesday night at Birhangaon under Dhaligaon Police Station in Chirang district.
The injured ABSU activist has been identified as Ganpat Mushahary (27). He was sleeping in the office when the ITBPF jawans barged into it unprovoked and beat him up brutally, the student leaders alleged.
The student body on Wednesday staged a protest in front of the ITBPF camp at Birhangaon. Later police reached the spot and controlled the situation.
