ABSU, NDFB(P) appeal to people to vote for change

UDALGURI, March 2 - A meeting was organised here at Bwriguma Fwthar near Udalguri town on Monday by the central committee of the Unites Peoples� Party (UPP) which was chaired by Rinjoy Boro, president of Udalguri district committee of All Bodo Students� Union (ABSU).

Addressing the meeting, Promod Boro, president of the ABSU, said that the good governance in the present BTC has become farce only under the dictatorship of BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and people in BTAD region must realise the fact that the BJP would never respond to the �Rupees One Thousand Cry� of Mohilary. People now want a change in leadership in BTAD region, he added.

The meeting was also addressed by Rwngwra Narzary, MCLA, UG Brahma, president of the UPP and Gobinda Basumatary, general secretary of the NDFB(P). The meeting was also attended by Dhiren Boro, president of NDFB(P) and Dilip Boro, the UPP candidate for 69 Udalguri LAC in the forthcoming Assembly elections, among others.

Internet capacity building programme at Kaziranga varsity

Guwahati, March 2 - The Kaziranga University hosted the Indian Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) capacity building programme on the university campus on Sunday, stated a press release.

The programme was organised by the Internet Society (ISOC), Kolkata Chapter, and approved by DeitY, Government of India. The event was attended by Dr Abhijan Bhattacharjee of TCS Innovation Lab, Kolkata, among other.

Dr Sunil Rai, Vice-Chancellor of Kaziranga University, Dr Prashanta Kumar Mishra, president of North Eastern Knowledge Foundation and other dignitaries were also present in the programme.

Dr Indrajit De, IICB Program Chair, said, �It is important to generate awareness about IETF because it generates and governs Internet Protocols.� He added that the capacity building programme is specially designed to focus more on creating new internet development by understanding what internet protocols are.

Speaking at the occasion, Abhijan Bhattacharjee, the key note speaker for the programme, said, �The Indian IETF Capacity Building (IICB) Programme is an attempt to increase the lower participation of Indians, corporate in the international internet standard making process and specifically in IETF with an objective to empower internet professionals by broadening their experience and enabling their participation in open Internet standards development.�
