ABSU central panel members sworn in

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 27 - The new central committee of All Bodo Students� Union (ABSU), which was constituted at the 49th annual conference and golden jubilee celebration held at Janghkhrithai Fwthar here from February 12 to 15 took oath today at the DRDA Guest House at Kaziranga, ABSU sources informed.

The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by Khungkra Swargiary, adviser of ABSU. The official function was inaugurated by Naren Chandra Basumatary, SDO (Civil) Dhansiri and ADC Golaghat. Raju Phukan, organising secretary of AASU attended the programme as special guest, where representatives from the district committees of ABSU were also present.

The new body along with all the volunteers of ABSU vowed to work dedicatedly for effective social change and development. The ABSU also resolved to continue their vigorous democratic movement for early solution of the vexed Bodoland issue, to intensify the movement for solution of Assam State-related issues like education, textbook, forest right, land right etc., and to observe March 2 as Bodoland Demand Day.
