ABSU, ABWWF demand judicial probe into Mainao�s death

KALAIGAON, April 6 - The Udalguri district committee of All Bodo Students� Union (ABSU) and All Bodo Women Welfare Federation (ABWWF) in a joint petition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanded a judicial inquiry into the mysterious death of Mainao Brahma (27) in Bangalore city on March 21.

Daughter of Babul Chandra Brahma of Goremari village in Udalguri district, she was working in JP Morgan company for last six years. Her body was found in her room in Koramongala 8th Block on March 21.

An FIR was lodged at the Koramongala Police Station on March 21 by her father against one Pradeep, suspected to be involved in killing. Unfortunately no arrest has been made so far in this connection.

The petition, signed by Ratendra Daimary, ABSU Udalguri district president; Anup Daimary, secretary of ABSU Udalguri district committee; Swapna Baglary, secretary and Maloti Basumatary, spokesperson of ABWWF, Udalguri district committee; requested the PM for a high-level judicial inquiry into the mysterious death and immediate action against the accused. The petition also urged the PM to ensure safety and security of students and people of NE region staying in different parts of the country.
