TEZPUR, May 21 � The Arun Tea Estate under ABITA-Zone 3 as part of its voluntary service has extended financial aid to the Ketekibari-based Nabaprabhat orphanage.
In a brief function held at the orphanage campus on Wednesday, ABITA-Zone 3 chairman Sanjay Bhora and secretary Abhijit Sharma handed over a cheque for Rs 25,000 to Trishna Moni Laskar Saikia, owner of the orphanage and widow of Bidyut Saikia, former journalist and social worker, who set up the orphanage in 2006.
Later, the children of the orphanage presented a cultural programme.
