GUWAHATI, Aug 1 � Like previous years, the 31st edition of the Abhiruchi Sports Day will be celebrated on September 3 all over the State. The Sports Day is organised on the occasion of the first Assamese Arjuna Award winning athlete Bhogeswar Baruah.
Stating in a release, organising president Balendra Mohan Chakravorty said that the central function of the Sports Day will be observed here with a day-long programme. Starting with mass jogging, the day will witness various competitions among school students. Sportspersons who represented the country in international events last year will be honoured on the occasion.
The Sports Day will be observed in 100 venues across the State.
