Abhinav makes it to Madhava Nurture Camp

DIBRUGARH, June 5 - Mathematics enthusiast Abhinav Phukan of Teporgaon, Mancotta here has yet again brought laurels to the region as a whole. He is the only student from the North East to be selected for the prestigious national �Madhava Nurture Camp� to be held at Ahmedabad from June 6 to 11.

He scored 27 marks in the Madhava Mathematics Competition to make it for one of the most sought after �Madhava Nurture Camp�. The competition supported by National Board for Higher Mathematics was organized by Department of Mathematics, SP College, Pune and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai. Altogether 74 students from across the country have made it for the nurture camp, where they will be groomed further for a career in Mathematics. All the expenses will be borne by National Board of Higher Mathematics.

Abhinav Phukan, who grabbed the 11th rank in HSLC 2016, is at present studying BSc (Maths) in Cotton University, Guwahati. He is the son of Tarun Chandra Phukan and Anjali Rajkumari Phukan. He passed his HSLC with 96% from Salt Brook School and higher secondary with 92% from MJ Academy, Banipur.
