Silchar, Mar 2: In a sensational incident, a group OF kidnappers attempted to nab a school teacher while she was on her way to her work in Banskandi.
The incident happened at a place in Srikona on Monday. Sources said that the efforts of abduction was foiled by people around the area who plunged into action and saved the victim.
However, police informed that based on the complaint filed by the victim at Tarapur police outpost, one of the lifters has been arrested. Furthermore, police informed that preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the kidnappers have been paid Rs 5 lakhs to abduct the woman.
