Abducted minor found at Khliehriat in Meghalaya

SILCHAR, June 10 - In what could be called a cinematic climax to the ongoing ordeal of the abducted two year old Shubamita alias Trisha Roy Choudhury, daughter of Dr Shubhadeep and Dr Satabhisha Roy Choudhury of Assam University Silchar was recovered after six days at a salon at Khliehriat under East Khashi Hills in Meghalaya around 130kms from here.

According to sources, the minor was spotted in a salon at 3:15pm on Saturday. Sources claimed that kidnappers took the girl to the salon at Khileriat Hut for haircut. Confronting suspicion, the persons left the place leaving the child.

Later, when the matter was reported to SP East Jaintia Hills by locals, he communicated to SP Cachar for identification. Meanwhile, a team of Cachar Police led by SP Rakesh Roushan and accompanied by parents of the minor are on their way to bring the child back home.

Our Shillong Staff Correspondent adds: The two-year-old girl Trisha was kidnapped from her home allegedly by her nanny and her accomplices. However, during the past few days there were no demand for ransom or phone calls from the abductors.

The district police in East Jaintia Hills has informed about the child to their counterpart in Assam. �We have informed out counterpart in Silchar about the child,� East Jaintia Hills SP, Spill Thamar said.

Meanwhile, the police are on the lookout for the kidnappers.
