NAGAON, Sept 10 - A local woman today rescued a newborn baby, which was hanging from a grill attached to the gate of a naamghar situated at Ratnapur area in the town.
The baby was admitted to the Child and Maternity Unit of the proposed Mohkhuli Medical College and Hospital and kept in its child intensive care unit till the filing of this report. The baby is stable and out of danger. This afternoon a woman heard the sound of a baby crying and when she reached the gateway to the naamghar, she found a newborn baby packed in a bag hanging from a rod of the gate. On being informed, the local Itachali police rushed to the spot and rescued the baby from the bag and admitted it to the hospital.
