JORHAT, April 2 Sharing the lessons of his own life, which were enriched by an analysis on various studies, aspects and experiences, Padma Shri awardee Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora on Wednesday gave an inspiring speech to hundreds of students, teachers, researchers and officials of the Assam Agricultural University (AAU) at a programme on the university campus during the celebration of its 47th foundation day.

A former professor and head of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology of AAU, Dr Bora delivered the foundation day lecture which literally answered various questions on the significance of living a meaningful life.

There should be a balance of physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects in a persons life. Human beings should not just only exist, they must live, said Dr Bora.

The noted intellectual also suggested everyone to avoid arrogance in any sphere of life as arrogant people cannot view the world from the right perspective.

Earlier, Dr Bora met many acquaintances he had been with during his tenure at the AAU. He recounted how the people of villages like Bahekgaon and Jalukonibari influenced him to write stories like Sakha Damodar, Swikarukti, etc.
