GUWAHATI, Sept 1 � Demanding a permanent solution to the flood and erosion problem of the State by considering it as a national problem, the All Assam Students� Union today held protest demonstrations throughout the State.
The student body demanded of the Union Government to announce a special package for solving this problem and arrange for aid, rehabilitation and compensation to the people affected by perennial floods and erosion.
Protest demonstrations were held in every district headquarter of the State.
