By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 29 - The All Assam Students Union (AASU) would stage a protest demonstration across the State on May 2, against the price rise of essential commodities.

In a statement, the AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi blamed the Tarun Gogoi-led State government for its failure to check the rise in prices.

Rising prices of food items and other essential commodities are hitting the people hard, whereas after elections, the State government is completely sitting silent on public grievances. The government has not taken any step to arrest the price rise, said an AASU statement asking the government to take steps against the black marketing of the essential commodities.
