AASU memo for error-free semester system at GU

GUWAHATI, April 21 � Demanding an error-free semester system, the All Assam Students� Union has written to the Gauhati University Vice Chancellor Dr Mridul Hazarika asking him to secure the academic future of the thousands of students.

In an urgent correspondence, the AASU said that the university should take effective measures for holding the graduation, post graduation and law examinations on time.

�The GU does not only mean the university campus of Jalukbari but all the colleges under the university, all the classrooms and thousands of students registered under the university,� said a statement from the AASU.

The AASU demand charter included immediate steps for increasing the seats at post graduation level so that the students are not deprived of higher education due to inadequate seats. It also demanded making the semester system and graduation level examination system completely error-free.
