AASU meet gets under way at Dudhnoi

GUWAHATI, March 23 � The 16th conference of the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) got under way at Dudhnoi today with a four-day programme. The conference will witness a change of guard of the AASU after a gap of ten years.

The four-day conference started with opening of the main gate by Khirod Khaklari, former vice principal of Dudhnoi College, while two guest houses were also inaugurated by former headmaster of Dudhnoi Girls� High School and social worker Ravi Jain.

The main pandal of the session, constructed in the memory of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, was inaugurated by Malina Devi Rabha, chairperson of the reception committee of the conference.

Delegates from all over the State started arriving in Dudhnoi from this morning and the last executive meeting of the present committee of the AASU will he held later tonight.
