BISWANATH CHARIALI, March 14 - An AASU leader here was relieved of his post after his photograph taken with Biswanath BJP MLA Pramod Borthakur had gone viral in the social media. The incident has drawn mixed reaction in the town.

According to information, the president of Biswanath Chariali Anchalik Chatra Santha (AASU) Prabin Matak had attended a meeting in his own village i.e., Biswanathghat Matak Gaon a few days back in which the MLA was also present. The MLA visited the village to inaugurate the renovation work of the village Naamghar .

Incidentally, someone took photograph of the meeting and made it viral in the social media. As the news reached the ears of the central leaders, an urgent meeting was called and the executive body meeting unanimously passed a resolution to relieve the president of his post. However, Prabin Matak who claimed to have been associated with AASU for the last 18 years and took active part in the agitation against CAA, alleged that he was not given a chance to raise his opinions at the organization�s level and was informed about the decision only through a letter.
