AASU for probe into question papers leak

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 9 - The All Assam Students Union (AASU) has demanded a thorough probe into the allegations of question paper leak of mathematics, physics and chemistry in the ongoing higher secondary examinations in the State.

The students body asserted that soon after the allegations of question paper leak surfaced, the AASU had intimated the Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) on March 7, but the council paid no heed.

AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi said that the anomalies are now apparent in not one but three question papers.

Science Academy of Goalpara had given four sets of model question papers to its students to prepare for the examination. The students body has the copies of three such model question papers of Maths, Physics and Chemistry, which has striking similarities with the HS Final Year question papers prepared by the AHSEC. Whereas giving model question papers is a common thing, its conspicuous similarities with the main question paper cannot be taken casually. We have come to know that some other colleges are also involved in it, the students leaders asserted.

The AASU also demanded a high level inquiry into the matter that should be completed within 48 hours. It also demanded a clear cut agenda from the AHSEC to ensure that the HS students appearing in the HS Final exam do not have to endure any injustice or mental harassment due to this incident.
