AASU flays Gogoi over land deal

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, May 4 The All Assam Students Union has lodged a strong protest against the anti-Assam stand of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in the Indo-Bangla land deal, and burnt copies of the official letter sent by the Government of Assam to the Union government on the issue.

In a statement, the AASU said the State governments support to the land swap deal was a clear indicator of Tarun Gogois vote bank politics. Another recent official letter to the Union government on this matter shows that Gogoi is ready to give away Assams land to Bangladesh to get some votes from illegal Bangladeshis, the statement said.

The student body reiterated its demand for fencing the porous Indo-Bangladesh border with barbed wires.
