GUWAHATI, Oct 3 - The All Assam Students� Union (AASU) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a detailed re-verification of the recently published National Register of Citizens (NRC).
�We have complete faith in the Supreme Court of India and we believe that the apex court will initiate appropriate measures in this regard,� a press statement issued by the students� body said.
�Since there remain some errors in the NRC and the general public is not happy with the outcome, we decided to seek the Court's intervention so that names of indigenous people are not left out,� the AASU said.
