GUWAHATI, Oct 12 Concerned over the lack of school education for a large number of students spread across Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri districts, the All Assam Students Union (AASU) demanded that the State Government take steps to improve the situation.
Scores of schools have been turned into camps for people displaced by violence in the three districts, as a result of which students have been denied access to education for three months.
The AASU urged the State Government to reopen the schools so that the students can catch up with their studies. Moreover, no illegal migrant who had entered Assam after 1971 should be provided land rights, the students body warned.
