Aarohan, Nihad, Aarnam emerge champions

GUWAHATI, Dec 13 - Aarohan Bharadwaj in the U-15 category, Nihad Islam Hazarika in the U-11 category and Aarnam Borah in the U-7 category emerged champions in the PC Borooah Selection Chess Tournament organised by the PC Borooah Chess Academy at the academy premises here today.

In the U -15 category Aarohan scored 5 points from 5 rounds to win the title while Nihad Islam Hazarika scored 6 points from 7 rounds to claim the U-11 title. In the U -7 category, Aarnam Bora claimed the title by scoring 3.5 points while Kamal Deka claimed first position by scoring 5 points from 6 rounds in the Open category. Top four players from each group will be selected to represent PC Borooah Chess Academy in the upcoming All Assam Chess Championship, stated a press release.

Final ranking � Under-7: Aarnam Borah (3.5 points), Aayushmaan Goswami (2), Inakshi Parashar (2), Mudit Agarwal (1.5). Under-11: Nihad Islam Hazarika (6 points), Rajdeep Mudiar (5.5), Anubrat Barthakur (5), Dhrupad Deka (4). PC Borooah Selection 2015 (Under-15): Aarohon Bharadwaj (5 points), Arunabh Gohain (4), Gunjan Basistha (3), Avilash Dutta (2). Open: Kamal Deka (5), Sirajul Haque (5) Sailen Kr Das (4).
