AAM�s Maths Olympiad results declared

GUWAHATI, Aug 23 - The results of Mathematics Olympiad (MO), 2020 conducted by Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) were declared on Saturday.

In pursuance of the COVID-19 protocols, AAM conducted the competition online on August 16. It was an hour-long competition for the senior category students (Class IX, X and XI), who took the test from their homes.

Though 457 candidates had registered for the competition, 198 appeared for the test. Sunaina Pati of Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti, Amingaon topped with a score of 70 out of 100 and for Subratananda Duwara Gold Medal sponsored by the family of late Dr Subratananda Duwara, a noted Mathematician of Assam who met an untimely death at a young age.

AAM Talent Search Committee in consultation with the office-bearers of AAM executive committee has decided to award the top five rank holders with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 each.

Based on the cut-off mark fixed by AAM Talent Search Committee, certificates of merit and appreciation will be presented to the eligible candidates. AAM certificates will be emailed to all the successful candidates within September 2020, a press release stated.
