AAI distributes 7.2 MT rice to Hollongi residents

ITANAGAR, April 18 - The Airports Authority of India (AAI), North East Region (NER), has distributed 7.2 metric tonnes (MT) of rice to the community heads of Chakma, Karbi, Nyishi and other communities which were later distributed among daily wagers, workers and others in the vicinity of the Hollongi Airport, in the presence of local MLA Tana Hali Tara and Balijan ADC, Tasso Gambo.

Nearly 600 households were among the beneficiaries with each household getting 12 kg of rice. The rice was distributed under the Corporate Environmental Responsibility programme, which is focused on uplifting the underprivileged and with a call to eradicate hunger in and around the Hollongi Airport, especially during the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The AAI has been consistently devoting resources towards Corporate Social Responsibility endeavours at various stations in the NER under the leadership of Regional Executive Director Sanjeev Jindal, stated an official release here.
