99 ILP violators pushed out from Mizoram

AIZAWL, July 10 - Altogether 99 people were on Saturday pushed back from Mizoram to Assam for violating provisions of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system, Aizawl district SP Lalhuliana Fanai said. Over 150 non-tribals were arrested in Aizawl on Thursday for residing in the State without valid ILP and of these 99 were convicted by courts, Fanai said. The convicted people were taken to the Mizoram-Assam border and pushed back.

At least 120 alleged ILP violators were again arrested on Friday night in Aizawl of which 79 were convicted yesterday, Fanai said, adding that those convicted would be pushed back on Monday.� PTI
