987 stranded people reach Nagaon, quarantined

NAGAON, May 21 - Within this week, around 987 people stranded in various parts of the country reached Nagaon and were being quarantined in various centres in the district.

Around 213 people arrived today at Nagaon from outside the State and they were being screened at the special health camp set up at Nehrubali field by the district medical surveillance teams.

The sources said that this afternoon the medical surveillance teams of the district health services, collected a total of 781 swabs samples for the first phrase till date and out of which 3 samples tested COVID-19 positive and 435 samples recorded negative and other test reports of 343 samples were pending.

The surveillance teams are yet to collect swabs samples of other 200 people at the temporary health camp set up at Nehrubali field, the sources said adding that the district administration as well as district health services have set up 31 special quarantine centres in the district with facilities of 1921 beds.
