GUWAHATI, Nov 5 - Nine Congress MLAs of the State will formally join the saffron party tomorrow.
The joining function which will be held at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh head office, will be attended by Ram Madhav, national general secretary of the party.
The nine Congress MLAs are Bolin Chetia, Pradan Barua, Pallab Lochan Das, Rajen Borthakur, Pijush Hazarika, Kripanath Mallah, Abu Taher Bepari, Binanda Saikia and Jayanta Mallah Barua. Known to be loyalists of former Congress minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, these dissident MLAs had met BJP national president Amit Shah in New Delhi in September.
