850 NL students awarded

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 2 - Anundoram Borooah Award, 2018 was recently presented to 850 students of Lakhimpur district.

The awards were presented to students securing 75% and above marks in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa Examination (AHME) conducted by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) was presented by Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah.

The students, including 111 of AHME who obtained 75% marks and above in the final examination held in 2018, were awarded. A special function was organised by Lakhimpur district Education Department at the District Library auditorium where the awards were presented.

Addressing the awardees, the MP in his speech stated that students were the future of the country and in today�s era, prizes like the Anundoram Borooah Award would help them in many ways.

The award ceremony was also attended by the Inspector of Schools of Lakhimpur district Mridul Kumar Nath and Development Commissioner Devashish Baishya.
