TEZPUR, Nov 20 - A pall of gloom has descended in the Tezpur area following a tragic road accident near here in the wee hours today that has taken the lives of as many as eight youths.
According to information, the youths were returning home from after attending a marriage ceremony at Baihata Chariali. The Maruti Ertiga vehicle they were travelling in collided with a stationary truck on the roadside in the Gelabil area near Dhekiajuli town.
The deceased have been identified as Diganta Saikia (Mission Chariali), Rinku Saikia (Milanpur), Ranjit Deka (Thelamara), Partha Puri (Natun Para), Narayan Das (Deurigaon), Tinku Bora, (Milanpur) and Kamal Dev Nath (Parua).
