8 youths from Doomdooma selected for Army

DOOMDOOMA, July 4 � To motivate the young generation to join in the Indian Army, the Army camp, Rupai Siding has been organising recruitment training camps since April, 2015 where interested candidates were imparted physical training and free medical check-ups. A total of 110 candidates appeared in the recruitment rally held at Mariani on April 28 from where 43 candidates qualified in the physical fitness test and primary medical test. These 43 candidates were shortlisted for written examination and they were given further coaching for the written examination which was held on May 31 at Mariani.

Out of 43 candidates, eight passed in the written examination. They all belong to Doomdooma and its neighbourhood. The successful candidates are: Rahul Borsaikia ( Chengeli Gaon, Dangari), Rintu Moran (No-1 Lajum Pathar Village), Biju Sonowal (Mulatgaon), Anup Mech (Dighal Pathar Gaon), Dandeswar Deori (Hallong Barali Gaon), Ragam Thapa (Kothasema Gaon), Bishal Chetri (Hahkhati Gaon) and Prakash Chetri (Upar Laopani Gaon).

To felicitate the successful candidates, a programme was organised at the Army Camp, Rupai Siding recently where they were congratulated on their achievements. The successful candidates also expressed their gratitude to the Army authorities for their help and guidance.
