IMPHAL, March 25 - With the wrapping up of filing of nominations for the first phase of Lok Sabha electionsthis afternoon, eight candidates filed their nomination papers for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency today.
The candidates for Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency filed their nomination papers at the office of District Election Officer (DEO), Thoubal, 25 km from here.
The candidates are � H Shokhopao alias Benjamin Mate (BJP), K James (Congress), Thangminlien Kipgen (NPP), Ashang Kashar (North East India Development Party), Dr Lorho S Pfoze (Naga People�s Front), Hangkhanpau (Janata Dal-U), Angam K Kom (Nationalist Congress Party) and Laikham Kaipu (Independent).
Four other candidates including Dr M Nara of CPI who finished second in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, popular actor RK Somorendro alias Kaiku (Independent), G Tonsana of Manipur Democratic People�s Front and S Nandeshore of Rashtriya Janhit Sangarsh Party also filed their nomination papers today. So far, 14 candidates have filed their nomination papers for two Manipur Lok Sabha seats.
