7th homage ceremony of Kajir Ronghangpi observed

DIPHU, Dec 7 - Top brasses of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) paid homage to the Karbi legendary girl Kajir Ronghangpi whose fairy tale is deeply connected with the present name of the famous Kaziranga National Park of Assam.

For last six years, the Autonomous Council authority has been observing this day at Kohora and has acknowledged December 5 as an official holiday. On the event of the 7th reverence observance of the famous teenager � Kajir Ronghangpi � the entire ruling clique of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, including its Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang, attended the colourful event organised officially by the council authority to mark the occasion.

Besides, Tuliram Ronghang, CEM, KAAC, chairman of the autonomous council Horensing Bey, executive members Rupsing Teron, Jagatsing Engti, Tarendra Brahma, Kache Rongpipi, Raju Tisso, Madhurjya Dhekial Phukan and Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) Dorsing Ronghang, Ramsing Timung, Richard Tokbi, Pabitra Rongpi, KAAC principal secretary Mahananda Hazarika and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

In his address, CEM Tuliram Ronghang vowed to revamp Kohora as a tourist destination. He declared that works for an open stage, community hall with main entrance gate, road and other infrastructures will start soon. Ronghang mentioned that the KAAC will defend and protect its forest land and will not allow further encroachment by anyone. �Tribal land can�t be separated, it is our plus point and we cannot give up even an inch of our land to others,� he said. He reaffirmed that advertisement for job vacancy will be made at the earliest by the KAAC authority.
