75.4% turnout in Udalguri subdivision

UDALGURI, Dec 7 - The first phase of BTC polls held in 10 seats under Udalguri district was held peacefully.

According to reports received from the DIPRO, Udalguri, the overall turnout of voters in all five constituencies under Udalguri subdivision was 75.4% till 4.30 pm.

According to DIPRO sources till 4.30 pm, there was 75.4% voter turnout in 36 Harisinga constituency while it was 75% in 37 Dhansiri constituency and 79% in 38 Bhairabkunda constituency, 72% in 39 Pasnoi Serfang and 75% in Rowta constituency.

The district administration had arranged a smooth process to conduct the polls with the help of dedicated government officials including police forces.

Sources said there was peaceful environment in all the polling stations but many voters found irregularities either in their names or photos, which was temporarily solved by concerned BLOs on duty.
