75 new positive cases detected in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 20 - Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday recorded 75 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 2,950.

The State also saw the release of 73 patients following their recovery from the viral infection. With this, the total number of recoveries has increased to 2,022.

The State�s total active cases now stand at 923, while five persons have died due to the virus, the State Directorate of Health Services stated in a bulletin issued here last evening.

Of the 75 new cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 16 cases. West Kameng reported nine and Papum Pare six cases. Five cases each came from Lower Siang and Tirap, while four cases each were detected in Upper Subansiri, Changlang and Lohit districts.

Namsai, Anjaw and East Siang reported three cases each, while Leparada, West Siang, East Kameng, Tawang and Longding registered two cases each. Upper Siang, Lower Subansiri and Dibang Valley detected one case each.

Of the 75 cases, 68 are reported to be asymptomatic and seven are symptomatic. Meanwhile, 73 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the State.

West Kameng saw release of 21 cases, followed by 12 in East Siang and 11 in East Kameng. Six cases recovered in Changlang, five in Tirap and four cases each in Papum Pare, Namsai and the Itanagar Capital Complex. Tawang also saw release of three cases, Lower Siang two and Upper Siang one.
