TURA, Dec 30 - A stepfather allegedly raped his seven year-old daughter about a week ago near Adokgre village in North Garo Hills. The culprit was later arrested by the police.
According to police, Rohen Sangma, the 46 year-old step father raped his minor daughter on December 23. Upon discovery of the incident, the family reported the matter to Adokgre Police Outpost two days after the incident.
Acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused on Sunday after an FIR was lodged with the Woman�s PS in Mendipathar. He was later produced in Court on Monday last at Resubelpara and is now under custody. The accused, Sangma married the victim�s mother after the demise of the father a few years ago.
