HAILAKANDI, Sept 26 - Five students, one crew member of an electronic media house and a probationary Deputy Superintendent of Police were injured during a clash between the cadres of NSUI and ABVP in Hailakandi town on Tuesday.

Electronic media crew Suraj Sen filed an FIR in Hailakandi Sadar police station but no one has so far been arrested.

The tussle between the members of both NSUI and ABVP started at Rabindra Bhawan during the freshers� social programme of the local SS College. One of the senior NSUI members alleged that some of the ABVP members created the trouble. Police, however, controlled the situation and the DSP was injured during the pelting of stones. All the injured persons were treated at the SK Roy Civil Hospital.

Police said that the situation is under control and search is on to nab the persons involved in the incident.

The administration cancelled the freshers� programme of the college immediately after the incident.
