6th Dr Manjoo Goswami Mishra Memorial Lecture

GUWAHATI, Sept 25 - The 6th Dr Manjoo Goswami Mishra Memorial Lecture was held at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri today to commemorate the 6th death anniversary of Dr Manjoo Goswami Mishra, head, Department of Home Science, Handique Girls� College.

Delivering the memorial lecture on �Universal Ethics�, Prof Alak Kumar Buragohain, former vice chancellor of Dibrugarh University, said that the foundation of universal ethics and social ethics is individual ethics. He said universal ethics is synonymous to secular ethics and the key value of this is patience and compassion. It is a skill and can be taught. An open-house discussion took place after the lecture.

Earlier, the event began with a Mangalacharan by a student of Handique Girls� College. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr Mamata Goswami, the coordinator of the memorial lecture. This was followed by felicitation of the distinguished guests including Prof Buragohain; Sewali Choudhuri, former regional director (NE), Reserve Bank of India and Pradyut Goswami, Vice Chancellor of USTM.

Jayashree Goswami, a lecture of Handique Girls� College spoke on the life of Dr Manjoo Goswami Mishra highlighting her tireless work for the welfare of women.

Sewali Choudhuri in her speech mentioned her attachment with the Dr Manjoo Goswami Mishra Memorial Lecture from 2017. Dr Mamata Goswami gave the vote of thanks.
