MORIGAON, April 3 - Altogether 63 persons from Morigaon district took part in the religious function at Nizamuddin, Delhi, and out of them, 17 returned home. Police picked up all 17 persons and 14 are in isolation wards of Lahorighat Hospital, said Dr Rohini Borkotoki, Joint Director, Health, Morigaon.
Out of the 17, three were medically confirmed as COVID-19 affected and were handed over to Sonapur COVID-19 Hospital. Altogether, 23 persons belonging to the families of the 17 returnees were handed over to the Sarusajai isolation centre on Thursday, said the Joint Director Health.
Police said the rest 46 participants are yet to come home. Apart from the 63 persons of Morigaon, police also found five from Dhing and one from Raha, who took part in the Nizamuddin function. Police have launched a search for these persons.
The Joint Director, Health, said their families have been identified and put under medical screening.
