6 lakh enrolled in Mizoram�s Anganwadi centres

AIZAWL, March 29 - Over 6.5 lakh children were enrolled in Anganwadi centres in Mizoram in five years during 2011-15, Social Welfare Minister PC Lalthanliana informed the State Assembly on Monday.

There were 10,692 Anganwadi centres in Mizoram, Lalthanliana said in a reply to a question from Lalruatkima of Mizo

National Front.

According to him, the daily allotment as per national norm are Rs 6 per day for normal child, Rs 9 per day for severely malnourished child and Rs 7 per day for pregnant women and tending mothers.
