6 Garo militants surrender

TURA, Feb 16 � Four cadres of the GNLA and two from ASAK surrendered today along with arms and ammunition to the police in East Garo Hills. The surrenderees included an area commander of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA).

The surrender was facilitated by members of the Church along with a former cadre of the GNLA outfit.

The cadres deposited 3 AK rifles, 1�Winchester rifle, one shotgun and two 7.65 mm pistols with 96 AK live rounds, ten 577/450 mm live rounds, four 12 bore rounds and three wireless sets during the surrender.
