GUWAHATI, June 4 - The Panbazar police with the City Crime Branch busted a gang of fake gold racket and arrested four persons today.
The police also recovered Rs 7.30 lakh in cash from their possession. They have been identified as Uttam Haldar, Subrata Das, Nasib Ahmed and Pramates Dehingia.
Officer-in-charge of the Panbazar Police Station Hemen Das said that a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on.
Meanwhile, the Panbazar police also arrested two persons including a woman in connection with a robbery case of Rs 20 lakh in the city. They have been identified as Nirmal Saikia and Sumi Saikia, both the resident of Narayanpur, North Lakhimpur.
